Bring New Orleans to Your House
04.23.07 (4:11 am)   [edit]
Mardi Gras and New Orleans in general is famous for its wildly tossed together mixed drinks. If you have ever been to Bourbon Street, you know this first hand. You can not visit this great town without trying their nationally acclaimed Hurricane. This drink recipe is not for the faint of heart. You require 8 oz of lemon/lime soda, 1 oz of lime juice, 2 oz of passion fruit, 2 oz of light rum, and 1 oz of 151 proof rum. Shake them all together with the exception of the 151 and pour the cocktails into large festive glasses. Now that you know how to float, float the 151 on top of the glass and enjoy this mixed drink with a long straw from the bottom. Like most hurricanes, this cocktail starts out slow and gets pretty wild towards the end.
